What is the difference between BPE and Business Workflow

Answer

  • Both use the same engine
  • All integration processes defined in PI generate workflows
  • PI has a few unique steps not available in workflow (eg. Transform,send)
  • These unique step types use ABAP classes at runtime execution
  • PI workflows are triggered byevents (WF-BATCH is the user)
  • Most workflows are generated from start conditions tied to an integration process
